What is choice? In our lives we are given the freedom of choice. Some would say this is a gift and some would say it is a curse. Sometimes we blame God for the bad things that happen in our life, like getting a bad grade on a test. Didn't you chose not to study for that test? So in the end you got a bad grade. We are born with free will which means we can make whatever decisions we want good or bad. If God has an unconditional love for us how could he let us make those bad decisions that may ruin the precious life he gave us. Why would he let his children leave him and go down the wrong path? Couldn't he just force every single human he creates to follow him and love him unconditionally? After our talk today in class with Mrs.Gunter I realize that he wants real love from us. Not forced love because the human heart is capable of so much love and sacrifice that it wouldn't be close to enough by going to Church and saying I love God when you don't really mean it. This is because God sacrificed his only son so all of humanity could be saved even the murderers and abusers. Choice is a gift that all people have to respect and use wisely.
The heart. Something that pumps blood to our body and drives us to do crazy things. The human heart is a very curious thing. It can drive us to do something out of revenge or hate that we regret doing later or it can drive us to do something out of love. For example in the Dark Knight' Shooting: 3 Boyfriends Die Shielding Girlfriends During Aurora Massacre. As I read further into the article one of the couples had only been together for 3 weeks and he still protected her and shielded her from the bullets. This shows that in situations between life and death people will do crazy things to save another person because of love. After reading this article I realized something. Mrs. Gunter kept asking us this question "How could God just let his only son die and when he's suffering not help him". He realizes that he cannot always be our shield and out protector. I also think it's because we're human and God has to let us suffer. I believe suffering enables us to love others even stronger. In these paragraphs I talked about the heart and the freedom of choice. I think that these two things are hand and hand because the hard decisions involve the heart. I know this because my parents sometimes make the decisions that only benefit me because they love me unconditionally. We have the choose with our hearts and what feels right to us in our hearts. The freedom of choice is a gift and by using your heart you will honor that gift.
